About Me

Me and my friends

For as long as I can remember, I have had deep love, respect and a passion for dogs. My first dog as a child was a Cocker Spaniel that I taught to sit, lie down, jump, and shake a paw. I have owned and trained German Shepherds for over 40 years, competing in conformation, obedience, agility and tracking trials put on by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) and American Kennel Club (AKC). I am a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, as well as the Okanagan Valley Obedience Training Club. I am currently working toward my qualification as a CKC Obedience Trial Judge. In addition, I have worked on various committees dealing with dog related subjects, dog by=laws and am currently a member of the Regional District Dog Advisory Committee..

Many of my dogs have been certified Therapy Dogs, and for years we have been frequent visitors at Cottonwoods, Brookhaven, Westside Care Centre, and other health care facilities where we put on obedience demonstrations and visit with residents. I am a volunteer for Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, and Trainer-Director of Pets and People TM Visiting Society.

For the past 13 years I have been involved with Career Days at local schools, where I talk to children about training, animal care, and working in animal related fields. I also volunteer to speak to and do demonstrations for the SPCA Youth Group. I have also been called upon to evaluate and determine the suitability for adoption of various dogs at the SPCA.

I am the owner and instructor at All For Dogs, which is Veterinarian recommended. I have taught all levels of obedience classes for the last 31 years in the Kelowna area.
