Destiny
and i will
throw myself upon the winds of change

lose myself within the endless dream
my destiny
calls to me, and i must recognize

looks at me with magician’s eyes
i asked the oracle
what does the future hold?
she said all things must pass
i looked into a glass
but only shifting colours met my gaze
and in this maze
by a fading light
the path has never been less plain
and i could not return and not remain
and so the coins i cast
and searched for certainties in vain
but i will
throw myself upon the winds of change

cast my sins upon the river wide
my destiny
calls to me, and i cannot disguise
my destiny
looks at me with magician’s eyes
i tried to chart a course
into the velvet night
but i never thought i’d stray
from each familiar day
the air so warm, the sun so kind
but on my way
was a treasure map
that matched a picture somewhere in my mind
and no one could reveal what i will find
all that they can say
is what i leave behind
but i will

pay the price to reap a fool’s reward
