Comox Valley based community band ‘The Rogue Rabble’ is made up of bagpipers and drummers that strive to compose, arrange and play unique bagpipe music and incorporate a variety of drumming instruments and styles. Our philosophy is to
Play the bagpipes and accompanying drums as legitimate versatile musical instruments
Play music to the best of our ability, striving for excellence in execution, synchronicity, expression and tone
As a group of musicians, share our music with others while demonstrating that the bagpipes can be more than the narrow, stereotypical view of the instrument as a symbol of Scottish tradition and culture or of English military tradition
We could be characterized as 'the un-pipe band, hence the label as rogues. We are not a marching or competing pipe band, but prefer to perform in public in a mini-concert format, using the bagpipes and folk style drums as our instruments of choice to play both traditional highland style dance and pipe music, as well as modern types of music composed to be played by the bagpipes.

may 2o12 - looking forward to warmer weather
As the warmer weather of summer approaches, look for TheRogue Rabble to be practicing and performing at more out-of-doors venues. We expect to perform at the seniors' homes, the Therapeutic Gardens, in Lewis Park, and at the Air Force Beach campground during the upcoming months. Also tentatively scheduled is a demonstration of our music at one of the schools in the area and a performance at a private party. If you happen to hear pipe music in your outside activities, drop by for a listen to some of our latest tunes.
