Denman & Hornby Islands December 2002 | ||
| Welcome to our home page. Hopefully this will help us keep in touch with family and friends with connections to the web. This is a new project that started with the computer club I belong to. About the same time I also volunteered to do a web page for the Island Waters Fly fishers. Boy, talk about walking into unknown waters. | ||||
Vi is busy doing
her art thing. She belongs to the Nanaimo Arts Council and also
is president of the Nanaimo Art Group.She volunteers three times
a month at the art gallery for the Arts Council. The Art Group
meets on Friday mornings to practice painting and have people
give lessons or demonstrations.
The picture to the right is a fabric collage she just finished. Can you imagine how many pieces of cloth she cut up and used? I think she is doing such great work! |

Vi and I go for frequent walks at
various parks and areas. Our favorites are Hemer Park,
the Nanaimo Hatchery, Neck Point Park, Piper's Lagoon,
Colliery Dam Park, Modern Colliery Park, Bowen Park,
Buttertubs Marsh and Jack Point Park. On nicer days and
when we have more time we also go the Rathtrevor Park
near Parksville, Cathedral Grove on the way to Port
Alberni and to Stamp Falls Park past Port Alberni. We
often take visitors to Long Beach as well as Tofino and
Ucluelet on the other side of the island. There is a delightful restaurant called the"Old House" in Courtney we love to visit. We also stop in at Salmon Point and the Oyster River and Black Creek areas. |
