Walking Tall

Hello to all! It is great to be walking tall. I am walking without my cane and have walked to places I haven't been to for a few years. It feels great. One of these days I will have to start up the lawn mower to shred up the leaves. Believe it or not, that also will feel quite good! There are a lot of things I haven't been able to do. Now I have a lot of catching up to do." People are telling me that I look much happier and that the grimace is gone from my face. I tried to be upbeat, but the pain didn't allow me to hide it too well.

Nov 2nd, 2001 More rainy days now, but today was gorgeous we Picked our apples today and took down the electric fence. This year we tasted the apples and pears before the racoons. They came into our grapes one night, but Anthony saw them and we were able to chase them off. We are still enjoying our red grapes.

These are our red grapes. Each day they get sweeter and a bit larger. By putting up netting early, we avoided the Robins and other birds eating them. If we didn't cover them, we would have very few grapes. The netting also discourages the Racoons, although they will try.

Our Kalyna (Highbush Cranberry) is doing well. Vi found out the berries have pucker power here as well as in Alberta. It also adds some nice fall colors to our yard.
