October 1, 2001 - Hi everyone. It has been a little while since my last posting. It is a sign that I have been busy. Busy getting around to doing things I haven't done for a long time. I am doing some walking without a cane and doing more each day it seems. Vi and I have driven to Campbell River, Port Alberni and points in between. I tried some fishing and was able to get out with a good friend Harold out to Miracle Beach Park and fished at Black Creek with my fly rod. It feels gooood!

Got my feet wet at Salmon Point. Didn't catch any fish.

It sure felt good to be on the beach again. Sorry, I did not feel I was ready for fly fishing.

Pears are coming along nicely

Vi shows off our Flemish Beauty pears. They are huge!

Mutsu apples are coming along.

Liberty apples are just about ready. They really have a nice flavor.

Heritage apples I rescued from an old mine site down the road from us. There is a gravel pit where the original tree stood. We believe it is a Northwestern Greenling.

We are enjoying our grapes now
