Internet Rex for Linux is now distributed in two formats: the standard DOS .ZIP file and a RedHat package manager .rpm file.

You can download .ZIP versions of Internet Rex for Linux from these locations:

    • When installing from the .ZIP file, remember to change all files to lowercase. (If you are using infozip's unzip, you can do this by running "unzip -L irexl229.zip".) You will also have to set the file permissions on the programs (rexl, rexls, rexcfgl, update) to executable.

    • The default install location is to /usr/local/InternetRex, but this can be altered using the --prefix option. e.g. To install to /home/bbs, run "rpm -U --prefix /home/bbs InternetRex-2.00-0.i386.rpm". (Note: the --prefix switch is broken in versions of rpm up to 3.01.)
